Father and Son Elevation at Prescot

Prescot Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 903 opened 2020 at their meeting on 9th January at Prescot Masonic Hall with a double elevation; made all the more special as it was a Father and Son combination that were elevated.
The candidates, Bro’s, John Bruffell, (dad) and Chris Bruffell, (son) who are the Junior and Senior Warden’s, (respectively) of Corinthian Mark Lodge No 1052.    This was the first meeting of the Lodge since the Installation meeting in November, and so it was the first full meeting in charge for the Worshipful Commander, WBro Jim Weaver.

A double elevation for your first meeting might have been a tough ask but WBro Weaver and his new team did a first rate job of the ceremony.   The candidates were announced by the Guardian, Bro Jorge Perez, and on their entrance into the lodge the deacons took charge.   Acting Senior Deacon WBro David Emmerson, RAMGR and Bro Paul Baines Junior Deacon guided the candidates first to the Junior Warden Bro David Rigby and then to the Senior Warden Bro Trevor Price, before presenting them to the Worshipful Commander.

WBro David Richards ProvRAMGR the Lodge DC, demonstrated the signs and the explanation of the working tools was given by WBro Mike Winterbottom, RAMGR.   WBro David Emmerson then gave the explanation of the steps.  It was an enjoyable ceremony and appreciated not only by the candidates but also by the members and visitors, who included VWBro Eric Drinkwater, the PGM’s Special Representative.

Prescot Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 903 also has a candidate for their next meeting and so that is something to look forward to in March.  We wish Bro’s John and Chris many happy years as Royal Ark Mariners.
